Working with a financial planning company in Melbourne’s CBD, we were commissioned to improve the efficiency of their reception area and create a unifying theme across the office spaces. The main issue was the lack of client waiting space in the reception and the lack of integration between front and back of house.

Co-lab Architecture worked closely with an interior designer to respecify all the furniture in the boardrooms and reception area. We removed the out-dated artwork and furnishings and replaced them with a sharper palette of 3 or 4 materials, including new lighting. The use of a simple palette incorporating the existing timber floor creates a streamlined, connected scheme.

Our architects redesigned the reception desk to create more seating space for clients and a better connection between the reception and offices. Instead of having to walk through reception to get behind the desk, the creation of a backdoor allows for better flow of movement while increasing security and improving customer service.
