Our client briefed us on this multi-residential project to ‘redefine the dynamic of inner-suburban apartment living’. Co-lab Architecture's response was to convert this site, historically used as a foundry, into a sustainable apartment building that encourages the occupants to engage with their neighbours through the use of space and perspective.
Firstly, we ensured the building structure itself engages with the neighbouring properties and development by focusing views on to surrounding proposals incorporating social zones piazzas and retail hubs. We’ve then designed a rooftop garden with city views and shared pavilion for all residents to encourage occupants to leave their private open space and engage with their neighbours.
This development is currently in the town planning phase.
