HUGHESDALE HOUSE

New Build

The deep narrow landscape of this project ensured the volume of the two-storey house was subtle and concealed by the unassuming front facade. The programming of the ground floor with a central courtyard was carefully executed with the intention of providing maximum natural light into the narrow block. The setback of the upstairs balcony negates the need for screening yet maintains privacy and ensures no overlooking occurs while vertical blades on upstairs windows add to the sense of privacy and seclusion. The front facade is demarcated by vertical screens which provide privacy, while a series of windows reveal an underground 9 car garage.
