The brief presented by the client was to create a spacious 3 bedroom home within the confines of extremely small site.
The existing house is one of 7 connected townhouses and occupies three quarters of the 120ms site. Internally the house was rendered with stucco and slate tiles with pine lining featured heavily throughout. The original layout was a two bedroom one bathroom.
Space was a premium within the confines of the site and every centimetre had to be utilised well. To gain floor area the internal walls separating the kitchen and bathroom were removed and replaced with joinery. A glass cathedral ceiling over the new dining room created a grand space that captures an enormous amount of natural light which penetrates deep into the centre of the house.
