Residential Architects In Melbourne
At Co-lab Architecture we provide full residential architectural services. Our projects have included heritage restorations, renovation and extensions, apartment fit-outs, and new builds. For each brief we work collaboratively with our clients from conception through to project completion, ensuring their dream home becomes a reality.
Our residential architects serve clients in Melbourne. They draw on cutting edge technology, developing a detailed virtual model of each project. This provides every client with the opportunity to interactively experience their structure. Using this experience, they are able to work with us to make any additional changes required to meet their needs.
We create spaces for couples building their first home together, growing families who need more space, single people fitting out city apartments and adventurous individuals creating unique spaces in beautiful environments.
Co-lab Architecture provides full architectural services, from concept design, through to planning approval, contractor selection and contract administration. Our experienced team members negotiate the planning and execution process for you, helping you create your home as smoothly as possible.
1. CONCEPT DESIGN
Collective design delivers better results, so at Co-lab every project begins with a design workshop. We bring together a team of residential architects and designers in Melbourne to develop a unique solution in response to each brief.
2. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
We then draw on client feedback, measurements and council overlays to produce a series of drawings. These are detailed enough to be submitted for town planning approval if needed.
3. TOWN PLANNING
If required we liaise with the local council on behalf of the client. This includes checking council obligations and managing any objections or queries from the assigned town planner.
4. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION
After obtaining a planning permit, we apply for a building permit using detailed working drawings. This highly detailed construction documentation outlines exactly how the structure should be built.
5. CONTRACTOR SELECTION
We then help the client choose and negotiate a contract with their builder by sourcing quotes and comparing inclusions and exclusions to ensure both parties reach a mutual agreement.
6. CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
Throughout the construction process, we carry out site inspections to ensure the contract and design are being met. This includes impartially assessing whether any variations or additional construction costs are fair.
