We design buildings that respond to those who will engage with them. We draw on our process and then act on our intuitive experience to deliver architecture that activates the intention of the space. We prioritise functionality above all else, and work within the given parameters to identify what’s required to shape a satisfactory project outcome.
Our core team of architects are experienced in managing projects end-to-end, through every architectural service stage. See the details of our process.
The best ideas are realised when people communicate and collaborate.
Designing for care professionals, Colab recognises the complex nature of serviceability and how critical it is, for space to support the carer in their provision of quality education and treatment.
Gathering the right expertise, we honour complexity and receive the tools to design practical and refined architecture.
A full understanding of a site to ensure all schematics respond to both the constraints and also the opportunities that can be explored – with a fundamental understanding of the extensive set of guidelines and regulations.
Producing an initial design that seeks to take full advantage of the surrounding environment, whether it’s a new build or renovation, we always address the client’s brief and confidently assign creative ideas that will stimulate site potential.
Town planning is often compared to ‘walking through a maze’. At Colab Architects, this process is simplified for both the benefit of the client and the responsible authority – conceiving well-articulated and thorough plans that display where needed, elevations, shadow diagrams and 3D perspectives – all of which address planning guidelines, be this at the local or at the state level.
At this point of the process, every facet of a project is fully documented including the type of joinery and required lighting along with detailed information as to how the project will be constructed.
Contractors are recommended at this stage of the process, which includes a full review and negotiation to ensure the best outcome for a client. It also makes clear at this point what is not included as part of this tender.
This is a critical element of the process where what is approved is fully delivered – including regular inspection of works to ensure they are fully aligned to the approved plans and documents and certifying payments to ensure a project operates within the allocated time and budget.
